About Stylus Events and DJs

Stylus is a unique boutique DJ service with the focus on the music, not the personalities. Our vision is of events where the DJ directs attention where it belongs, not on themselves.

Stylus was founded by industry insiders to address real event needs with professionalism, clarity, skill, and purpose. That means our DJs and Emcees know what to do and how to do it right. We work with you to create the perfect sound and presentation for your event, as well as handling all the details of your vision with the focus and dedication you deserve.

We employ true professionals, not part-timers, noobs, wash-outs, or narcissists. We are event experts, and we’re here to help you realize the best event possible.

We specialize in Destination weddings as well. It takes a lot to get everything just right no matter where you are, contact us if you’re looking for the best no matter where your wedding will be.

Uplighting and Accent Lighting for your Wedding

Uplighting can make a world of difference at your event. It’s the cheapest, most effective, and fastest way to make your wedding stand out.

According to celebrity planner David Tutera, lighting is the most important element of wedding preparations that people overlook. Why does he think it makes such a big difference?

Simply put, I can make your room look like it was made for your wedding instead of a place that thousands of people have used for the exact same thing.
With a few lights, we can turn a single wall into sophisticated visual element, or transform your entire venue into something that does more than just hold all your elements.

Lighting allows us to accentuate your wedding colors, your centerpieces, your bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen’s suits, your pictures and your floral arrangmentments – pulling it all together in a cohesive whole that makes the wedding FEEL as good as it looks.

Contact Stylus for lighting in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and anywhere in the triangle and beyond.

High Quality DJs for your wedding, event, or celebration

We can tell you what the Stylus difference is, but it’s easier to let our clients tell you.

I fully recommend him as an awesome, charismatic DJ for your big day. (he) makes it very easy for you to plan just about everything for your reception (the online planning tools are very easy to use, and I suggest using the “notes” section as much as possible if you have specific requests) and you get the impression that when you are talking in meetings, they are actually listening. The price value for such a great DJ is unmatched, so do yourselves a favor and book a meeting with Jason ASAP!

Jason was our DJ. He is a natural as an emcee, and was very good at keeping everything moving as scheduled. He did a great job mixing the music as well. We had a ton of songs on our playlist, and knew that we wouldn’t be able to hear all of them, but he was able to get some more songs in by mixing them in cool ways with some of the other songs. He was even nice enough to play an extra song at the end of the night that my husband requested, even though he had already stated that the next song was going to be the last song of the night. (He) was great to work with from beginning to end.

!I met Jason at a bridal show in Raleigh and knew from the day I met him that I wanted to use him for my wedding DJ. He proved even BETTER than I thought. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact (him). He made the whole night so smooth, and things flowed so well. He really knew how to work the crowd so that EVERYONE would get on the dance floor at some point, even elderly people. He did a great variety of slow and fast dances. If you’re looking for a wonderful dj for a Raleigh wedding, please contact them and I especially recommend Jason Huggins!:)

As a photographer I go to a lot of weddings and see a lot of DJs. We know that the DJ makes or breaks the party. For all the DJs we’ve heard over the years, one stuck out the most… Jason. We heard him play at a wedding we photographed at Haywood Hall in Raleigh and as soon as we had the date set for our own wedding, he was one of the first vendors we contacted. We had him drive all the way to the coast of NC for our wedding and it was worth every cent! We even had him stay an extra 2 hours (5 hours total!) because everyone was having such a great time and he kept the party going. Jason did a great job working in our requests, helping suggest ways to make our ideas work, and did a fantastic job reading what our guests were most responsive to. We really appreciated the fact that he would STOP a song we’d requested if he noticed it cleared the dance floor. Why try to make it work if it’s not going to work? He knew how to keep the floor packed ALL NIGHT. He also suggested a lot of great ideas for our wedding in general that we actually used… like having a raffle. It’s the little things :) I don’t think you can’t go wrong with these guys!

Stylus features real DJs on staff

Stylus features actual DJs on its staff

– not bedroom DJs, trainee noobs, or wash-outs who remember the good old days when clients didn’t want you to know how to read a crowd. Our DJs understand that song selection, technical skill, airtight planning, expert intuition and easy communication are what make for a successful event.

Strangely, some companies will often send high schoolers or college students to their special events, young adults with little to no training or experience – paying them practically nothing to do your wedding. Or, they’ll send out old-school washout DJs who are looking to get back into DJing because their real-estate career didn’t pick up. Would you expect to get a great event out of that?

Other ‘premiere’ DJ companies charge you a fortune even though their DJs are playing your event off of WinAmp or Itunes.

WinAmp! The best free music program 1998 had to offer.

Based out of Raleigh, Stylus is your opportunity to reserve the area’s best professionals for your wedding in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Wilmington, and beyond.

Stylus’ principal DJ, Jason Huggins, is an industry insider who specializes in blending music in unique and interesting ways. After years managing one of the region’s largest DJ companies and watching the rest stumble through event after event, Jason saw where the problems were – and Stylus aims to fix it.

His wedding DJ reviews on The Knot, Wedding Wire, and other wedding sites rank him as one of the best reviewed in the industry. Jason, and the rest of the Stylus team, are ready to help make your wedding an absolute success.

You don’t have to settle – not anymore. Stylus DJ is finally here.

Our wedding DJ  packages start at $900 for 4 hours for a Raleigh Wedding DJ. That includes everything you’d need to make your wedding reception and ceremony great. We also offer uplighting, accent lighting, custom music mixes, personalized GOBOs (monogram in light), effects lighting for outdoor tent receptions, and ceremony amplification and sound.

What type of equipment do we use?

Some people want to know what we use. We use the best. That doesn’t mean we use it because it’s got a name everyone recognizes. We don’t jump on something because it’s new, or ‘Hot’. We recognize that true quality isn’t something given by a label, it’s exhibited in how it performs. The best tools are the ones that help you best perform the job at hand, are professional grade, and have a proven history of reliability and resource intense operation. Each of our DJs uses a slightly different rig in the same way that Page, Hendrix, and White used different amps and guitars. We all have a unique sound and technical needs to suit our talents. That’s why we use the best, regardless of who made it or where it came from, because it allows us to be our best.
